BRC No. | RBRC00422 |
Type | Spontaneous Mutation |
Species | Mus musculus |
Strain name | C.Cg-Cpox<nct>/JmsRbrc |
Former Common name | NCT, BALB/c-nct/nct |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | |
Background strain | |
Appearance | albino [A/A b/b c/c] |
Strain development | Cataract mutation arose spontaneously in the multiple breeding colony. The mutant mice were backcrossed to BALB/c (1988). |
Strain description | Nakano cataract mice, spontaneous recessive mutant. Homozygous mutant mice develop cataracts. A spontaneous G to T transversion was occurred in the Cpox gene, resulting in the amino acid substitution of Leu for Arg at position 380. |
Colony maintenance | Sibling Mating (Homozyogote x Homozygote) |
