Strain description | PrP, the prion protein, plays a central role in the pathogenesis of transmissible neurodegenerative disorders such as scrapie or BSE. Homozygous mutant mice show the absence of cellular isoform of prion protein. Aged homozygous mice exhibit tremor and ataxia. |
