Strain name | B6.Cg-Tg(KRT14-HGF)43Takk/Rbrc |
Former Common name | hk14-HGF (human cytokeratin14 promoter + human hepatocyte growth factor) |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | |
Background strain | |
Appearance | black [a/a B/B C/C +/+] black with an aberrant pigmentation in the skin [a/a B/B C/C Tg/?] |
Strain development | Developed by Dr. Takahiro Kunisada at Tottori University in 2000. The human HGF cDNA fragment under the contorl of human keratin 14 promoter was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F1 fertilized eggs. |
Strain description | These transgenic mice develop prominent epidermal pigmentation by overexpression of the human HGF gene controlled by the human keratin 14 promoter. The phenotypes of these transgenic mice conform with that of human dermal melanocytosis. This strain is a useful animal model for dermal melanocytosis. |
Colony maintenance | Sibling Mating (Hemizygote x wild-type, Hemizygote) |
