Strain development | Developed by Dr. Tasuku Honjo, Kyoto University in 2003. A pgk-neo was transfered into E14 ES cells to replace nucleotide 4891 of the coding region of Mint. The Mint deficient mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 16 times. |
Strain description | B6.129P2-Mint-pending<tm1Hon>/HonRbrc. Mint, Msx2 interacting nuclear target protein which is a suppressor factor of a Notch/RBP-J signaling pathway play a role in fate determination in various lineages. Homozygous mutant mice are embryonic lethal due to developmental abnormality of heart, spleen and liver. This strain is useful for elucidating of Notch/RBP-J signaling pathway mechanism in mammals. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6CrSlc)The reproductive performance is good. Homozygous mutant mice are embryonic lethal. |
