Strain nameB6.Cg-Tg(CTSG-NUP98/HOXA9)1589Tanak/TanakRbrc
Former Common namet(7;11)AML NUP98-HOXA9 transgenic (Tg) mice
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentDeveloped by Dr. Kakuro Nakamura, NIH in 1996. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F2 fertilized eggs. The transgenic mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J over 10 times.
Strain descriptionB6.Cg-Tg(CTSG-NUP98/HOXA9)1589Tanak. This transgenic mice express the chimeric NUP98-HOXA9 gene in the myeloid lineage. About 20% of mice with this transgene exhibit myeloproliferative disorder and acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
Colony maintenanceCarrier x Noncarrier [C57BL/6JJcl]
