Strain descriptionEye lens aplasia. Autosomal recessive mutation which arose in the BALB/c breeding colony. Homozygous mutant mice for eye lens aplasia have microphthalmia, aphakia, absence of the anterior chamber, dystrophy of the cornea and vitreous body, and retinal disorganization.
Colony maintenanceSibling MatingHomozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile.
