Strain development | Developed by Shigetada Nakanishi, Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F1 fertilized eggs. C57BL/6 semicongenic. |
Strain description | mGluR6 (glutamate receptor, metabotropic 6) gene is suggested to be responsible for ON responses in both the rod and cone systems. The transgene is mGluR6 gene fused to the beta-galactosidase reporter gene. This strain is useful for investigating the promoter function of the cell-specific and developmentally regulated expression of mGluR6. |
