Former Common name | PGC7 KO |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | D3 [129S2/SvPas] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Toshinobu Nakamura, Toru Kimura and Toru Nakano, Graduate School of Medicine and Frontier Biosciences, Osaka University in 2003. D3 ES cells were used to generate the mutant mice. The mice were crossed to C57BL/6 (C57BL/6 semicongenic). |
Strain description | Dppa3 (PGC7/Stella) gene knockout (rtTA knock-in mice). The start codon of Dppa3 was replaced with rtTA cDNA and floxed PGK-neo cassette. Dppa3 gene plays a critical role in embryonic development as a maternal facotor. Homozygote males mice are fully fertile, but homozygous females are infertile. |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote x Wild-type [C57BL/6NCrSlc] |
