Strain description | Xsit/Tsix double knockout mice (X<dc>). An IRES-EGFP cassette was inserted to replace part of exon 1 of Xist gene in mutated J1 ES cells lacking Tsix gene (Tsix<tm1Enl>) in which exon 2 and 3 were replaced with an IRES Beta-geo cassette. Heterozygous mutant females with paternal mutant allele were embryonic lethality by non-random and abnormal X-inactivation.
