Strain developmentDeveloped by Norikazu Yabuta and Hiroshi Nojima, Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University in 2004. D3 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were crossed to C57BL/6.
Strain descriptionLats1 gene knockout mice (deltaN type). Exon 1 containing a translation initiation codon was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice are small. Homozygous mutant females cannot nurse pups due to lacking mammae.
