ES Cell line | D3 [129S2/SvPas] |
Background strain | BALB/cAnNTac |
Appearance | albino [A/A b/b c/c] |
Strain development | Developed by Dr. Glenn Dranoff, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in 1998. Mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 9 gnerations, and then to BALB/cAnNTac for 3 generations. Deposited by Dr. Shigeo Koyasu, Keio University School of Medicine. |
Strain description | Interluekin-3 is a growth factor of hematopoieic progenitors that yields multipotential blast cells, mast cells, basophils, neutrophils, macrophages, eosinophils, erythrocytes, megakaryocytes, and dendritic cells. IL-3 null mutant mice show unimpaired hematopoiesis, but contact hypersensitivity reactions are compromised. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to BALB/c (Heterozygote x BALB/cAnNTac) |
