Former Common name | Sept3(-) (Acc. No. CDB0422K) |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | TT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Mineko Kengaku, RIKEN Brain Science Institute. A neomycin resistance cassette flanked by loxP sites was transferred into TT2 ES cells to replace a partial region of exon 2 and exons 3-5 of Sept3 gene. |
Strain description | Sept3 knock-out mice. Septins are a family of GTPase proteins that are required for cytokinesis in most eukaryotes. Sept3 is a brain-specific protein that is abundant in synaptic terminals. Sept3 knockout mutant mice show normal histogenesis and neuronal differentiation. |
