Strain development | Developed by Dr. Kazuto Kobayashi, Fukushima Medical University School of Medicine at 1998. The transgene containing CMV promoter and bovine Rho-A DN cDNA separated by a floxed chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) cassette was injected into the pronuclei of B6D2F2 fertilized eggs. The transgenic mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J. |
Strain description | Transgenic mice conditionally expressed a dominant-negative form for RhoK by using the Cre-loxP system. The Rho GTPase is known to regulate diverse cellular processes, including cell morphology, cell motility, adhesion, and apoptosis. The activity of RhoK in these transgenic mice is suppressed in developing motor neurons by crossing with dopamine beta-hydroxylase promotor (DBH)-cre transgenic mice. This strain are useful for elucidation of the role of the Rho sigaling pathway in various tissues with tissue-specific cre Tg mice. |
