Type | Targeted Mutation![]() |
Species | Mus musculus |
Strain name | B6.129S2-Nmu<tm1Mko> |
Former Common name | NMU-KO |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | D3 [129S2/SvPas] |
Background strain | C57BL/6JJcl |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Masayasu Kojima, Institute of Life Science, Kurume University in 2000. D3 ES cells were used to generate the mutant mice. The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6. |
Strain description | Nmu (Neuromedin U) gene knock-out mice. Exon 9 of the Nmu gene was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice show a increased body weight. Nms gene knockout mice (RBRC04550), Nmu and Nms double knockout mice (RBRC04737). |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote × wild-type [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl] |
