BRC No.RBRC04549
TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.129S2-Nmu<tm1Mko>
Former Common nameNMU-KO
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineD3 [129S2/SvPas]
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Masayasu Kojima, Institute of Life Science, Kurume University in 2000. D3 ES cells were used to generate the mutant mice. The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6.
Strain descriptionNmu (Neuromedin U) gene knock-out mice. Exon 9 of the Nmu gene was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice show a increased body weight. Nms gene knockout mice (RBRC04550), Nmu and Nms double knockout mice (RBRC04737).
Colony maintenanceHeterozygote × wild-type [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl]
