BRC No.RBRC05515
TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6;129S4-Ern1<tm2.1Tiw>
Former Common nameIRE1alpha floxed, B6-Ern1/dNeo floxed
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineRF8 [129S4/SvJae]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Takao Iwawaki, Advanced Science Institute, RIKEN in 2005. RF8 (129S4 derived) ES cells were used. Frt flanked neo cassette was removed by crossing with FLP mice. C57BL/6 and 129 mixed background.
Strain descriptionIRE1alpha (Ern1) gene floxed mice. Exons 20 and 21 were flanked by loxP sites. Conditional IRE1alpha deficient mice can be generated by crossing with tissue-specific Cre mice.
Colony maintenanceHeterozygote x Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl]
References
Function of IRE1 alpha in the placenta is essential for placental development and embryonic viability.
