Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Haruhiko Akiyama, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of (C57BL/6 x DBA/2)F1 fertilized eggs. The mutant mice were crossed to C57BL/6. |
Strain description | Prx1-Sox9/lacZ transgenic mice in which Sox9 is specifically expressed in limb bud mesenchyme. Prx1-Sox9/lacZ transgene contains a 2.4 kb of the Prx1 limb specific promoter encoding the 3xHA-epitope tagged Sox9 cDNA followe by an IRES lacZ. Tg mice exhibit pre- and postaxial extra-digit formation. lacZ expression was detected in the limb buds from E9.5 |
Colony maintenance | Carrier x Noncarrier [C57BL/6NCrSlc] |
