TypeSpontaneous Mutation
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.Cg-Kif14<lag>
Former Common nameB6-lag
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Toshiaki Sakisaka, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine in 2009. Spontaneous mutation arose in C57BL/6, DBA/2 and 129 mixed background mice colony. The mutant mice were crossed to C57BL/6J.
Strain descriptionLaggard mutant mice. Spontaneous recessive mutant. Homozygous mutant mice show tremor and die within 2-3 weeks after birth. A point mutation in exon 5 of the Kif14 gene.
Colony maintenanceHeterozygote x Wild-type [C57BL/6JJmsSlc]
References
Kif14 mutation causes severe brain malformation and hypomyelination.
