Former Common name | B6-Pla2g4a KO, cPLA2a KO |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | E14.1 [129P2/OlaHsd] |
Background strain | C57BL/6JJcl |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Naonori Uozumi and Takao Shimizu, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo in 1997. E14.1 ES cells derived from 129P2/PlaHsd were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6JJcl. |
Strain description | Pla2g4a gene knockout mice. A part of the exon encoding the lipase consensus motif and serine 288 of Pla2g4a was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice show reduced allergic and autoimmune reactions and females of homozygous are infertile (showing abnormal parturition and decreased litter size). |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote x Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl] Homozygous mutant females are infertile. |
