TypeTransgeneCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6(129S6)-Tg(Aif1-tTA)54Kftnk
Former Common nameIba1-tTA, B6-Aif1-tTA Tg#54
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Dr. Kenji Tanaka, National Institute for Physiological Sciences. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of C57BL/6J fertilized eggs. C57BL/6 and 129 mixed background.
Strain descriptionIba1-tTA transgenic mice carry a tTA under the control of the modified Iba1 promoter. tTA expression is detected in Iba1 positive macrophage lineage cells (microglia in brain).
Colony maintenanceCarrier x Noncarrier [C57BL/6JJcl]
