Former Common nameEdnrb(-/-); DBH-Ednrb; Dct-LacZ+/+, B6-Ednrb KO/DBH-Ednrb/Dct-lacZ
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineJH1 [129S7/SvEvBrd]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Masashi Kato, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. C57BL/6 background. Ddnrb KO and DBH-Ednrb Tg alleles were generated by Masashi Yanagisawa, Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dct-lacZ Tg allele was generated by Ian Jackson, Western General Hospital.
Strain descriptionEdnrb KO/DBH-Ednrb Tg/Dct-lacZ Tg mice. Ednrb homozygous and DBH-Ednrb Tg mice are viable due to a lethal megacolon phenotype of Ednrb KO mice are rescued by the DBH-Ednrb expression. These mice also express lacZ in melanocytes under the control of Dct promoter.
Colony maintenanceEdnrb KO : Homozygote x Heterozygote ; DBH-Ednrb : Carrier x Carrier ; Dct-lacZ : Carrier x Carrier (Homozygote x Homozygote)
