Strain developmentDeveloped by Luc Sabourin, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of (C57BL/6 x C3H)F1 fertilized eggs. The mutant mice were crossed to FVB/N for several times.
Strain descriptionTransgene expressing the HA-tagged, dominant negative cDNA (K63R) of SLK, under the control of the HAS promoter. Line 654 (RBRC06145) and line 3405 (RBRC06146). Tg mice exhibit some muscle defects. Line 654 and 3405 Tg mice have a high and low expression level of K63R, respectively. Line 654 Tg mice tend to yield smaller litters and fewer litters than their wild-type or line 3405 counterparts.
