ES Cell lineTT2 [(C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Ryo Kominami, Graduate School of Medical and Dental Science, Niigata University. TT2 ES cells derived from B6CBAF1 were used for the generation of knockout mice. C57BL/6 background (RBRC06231), BALB/c background (RBRC02421).
Strain descriptionBcl11b gene knock-out mice. A PGK-neo cassette was inserted into exon 1 of the Bcl11b gene. Bcl11b is a tumor-suppressor gene involved in T cell lymphomas. Homozygous mutant mice diw within the first day after birth. Mutant mice show a block at the CD4-CD8 double-negative stage of thymocyte development without any impairment in cells of B- or gammadelta T cell lineages. C57BL/6 background (RBRC06231), BALB/c background (RBRC02421).
Colony maintenanceHeterozygote x Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl]
References
Bcl11b is required for differentiation and survival of alphabeta T lymphocytes.
