Strain development | BD-Cyst strain was created by transferring the genetic locus (D6Mit188 (32.53 cM) to D6Mit15 (77.7cM)) in chromosome 6 from D2 mice into the B6 strain by backcrossing with B6. This mouse is useful for Echinococcosis research that contains susceptible genes of D2 for phenotypic expression of Echinococcosis and this strain is developed by laboratory of laboratory animal sciences and medicine, Hokkaido University, Japan in 2014. |
Strain description | BD-Cyst congenic strain carries susceptible genetic locus for the protoscolex development, integrated from DBA/2 (D2) mice into C57BL/6 (B6) background. This mouse is useful to study Echinococcosis infection. Derived from C57BL/6NCrSlc and DBA/2CrSlc. |
