Strain development | Developed by Katsuhiko Mikoshiba, RIKEN Brain Science Institute in 2005. R1 ES cells derived from (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1 were used. C57BL/6J congenic line by crossing with C57BL/6 for 10 generations. |
Strain description | Itpr3 (inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor 3) KO mouse. A nls-LacZ gene fragment was inserted downstream of the translation initiation codon. Homozygous mutant exhibit abnormal hair loss and low sweet preference. |
