Strain developmentDeveloped by Takahisa Furukawa, Institute for Protein Research, Osaka University in 2017. JM8.N4 ES cells derived from C57BL/6N were used and mice were crossed with C57BL/6J. C57BL/6 genetic background. Mutation of Rd8(Crb1) was replaced with its normal allele.
Strain descriptionKO mice for genes, Lrit1(leucine-rich repeat, immunoglobulin-like and transmembrane domains 1)and Lrit2(leucine-rich repeat, immunoglobulin-like and transmembrane domains 2). Genomic region from Exon 2 of Lrit1 to Exon 2 of Lrit2 was replaced with a neo gene. Homozygous mutants exhibit abnormality of synapse formation between cone photoreceptor cells and bipolar cells of retina.
