Former Common name | Arf-6 |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | E14K [129P2/OlaHsd] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Yasunori Kanaho and Teruhiko Suzuki, University of Tsukuba in 2004. A neomycin resistance gene replaced a genomic region containing the translation initiation codon of the Arf6 gene. E14K ES cells dereived from 129P2/OlaHsd was used, and then mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J over 10 generations. |
Strain description | Arf6 knockout mice. Homozygous mutants are embryonically lethal due to impaired liver development. |
Colony maintenance | |
References | Crucial role of the small GTPase ARF6 in hepatic cord formation during liver development. Suzuki T, Kanai Y, Hara T, Sasaki J, Sasaki T, Kohara M, Maehama T, Taya C, Shitara H, Yonekawa H, Frohman M A, Yokozeki T, Kanaho Y Mol. Cell Biol., 26(16), 6149-56 (2006). 16880525 |
