Strain developmentDeveloped by Yasunori Kanaho and Takamitsu Unoki, University of Tsukuba in 2005. E14 ES cells derived from 129P2/OlaHsd was used, and then mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J over 10 generations.
Strain description)Pip5k1a (phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase, type 1 alpha) knockout mice. A floxed neo fragment replaced Exon 5 of the Pip5k1a gene. Homozygous males are infertile.
